My poem 📜

Hello welcome back to my blog post.

Last week in my writing workshop we had to make a poem. We were given a different style of poems like limerick, haiku, using comparisons in poetry or cinquain and I chose to do a haiku, haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry it is also a consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. I did a haiku about me feel free to see what I wrote.

You have done an exceptional job on your Haiku! I see that above each line you have calculated the amount of syllables each word has and then added them up to make sure you have the correct amount of syllables in each line. This was a truly great idea and I am impressed with how you managed to do that!
There are a couple of lines in your Haiku where the amount of syllables you have don’t quite match the amount of syllables you needed in that line. I always find it helpful to clap out words to find out how many syllables they have.
Perhaps this could be something you could try the next time you create a Haiku?
    Nga mihi
