Summary

HI!
I will be sharing a piece of work of my

Student Volunteer army is used to set up to help those in need who were most affected by the Christchurch earthquake in September 2010. Thousands of volunteers were were put into groups and sent off to the worst affected areas in Christchurch to help with the clean up and to help the community.
Unfortunately there was another earthquake which happened on 22nd February 2011. This was far worse and much more help from the T was needed . 13,000 students volunteered in just one week. There were also 185 lives lost in this tragic event.

University student Sam Johnson was the founder and created a Facebook page to encourage friends to join him with the cleanup, for example moving liquefaction around Christchurch, bringing the wider communities together to help out one another and to learn new skills. Overall making a positive impact in our community.

The SVA has became such a success that people from all over New Zealand of all ages have helped. We can see this with the statistics (numbers) it is also a way for kiwis to continue to keep the tradition of generosity and to use it in a practical way next time something like this happens especially in our own city.

The SVA wish to continue to create goals and continue inspiring students to volunteer and help others.

Wonder t-shirts

Hi. Welcome back to my blog post.

On Friday the 15th of March, our school worked on designing T-shirts. Our theme for the year is #choose kind and we designed these using google drawing. In our main office, we have a jar and if someone is being kind, sees someone being kind or doing the right thing, they get a piece of paper, write down if they were kind and why and put the paper in the jar. The first person pulled out of the jar will be the winner which will be held at the School values assembly

This is my design.

What have you done that is kind to someone?

Art

Hi. This year the Kaupeka have been learning 'what is greatness'. Last couple of weeks we have been making a piece of art. We had to complete it on Friday. We had to take a photo and print it and stick it on a piece of paper. We had to right 4 words to what is greatness. I chose Humble,Kindness,Grit and Faith. When it was completed I was happy to what it turned out like.

Do you like art?

Hi. Every Monday The Kaupeka hub go on a bus and go to Linwood collage school for technology. Technology is when you learn new things and focus on a project for a term or 1 each week. The things we do are plastic, food, fabrics, sewing, metal works and wood works. The year 7's do plastics, food, sewing and wood works and then the year 8's do food, metal work, sewing and Fabric. This term I am doing Plastics I have made a dice and a key ring with a netball with a girl defending and a other girl who is shooting the ball in the net. I really enjoy doing plastics. And I then am excited to do the next thing next term.
Have you ever done technology before. If you have did/do u enjoy it?

Hi welcome back to my blog post.
For the past 2 weeks my school has been doing swimming lessons at QEII. I love learning new things and doing laps up and down the pool. My favorite style at swimming would probably be backstroke or breast stroke. What is you favorite style?
I cant wait for water safety.
